Over the summer, I became interested (some would say obsessed, but that’s subjective) in capturing the perfect image of a bird in flight. Not just in flight, but in what may be described as “flutter”. The state of not moving or scarcely moving in mid air. Of course the wings would be moving, and ideally they would be caught wide open, spread out. Good focus, good resolution, and minimal image blur.
I didn’t get that image – yet. Suffice it to say that the technical sweet spot is still eluding me. I plan to document the technical challenges elsewhere, for people who care. This post is more for people who like pictures of birds and will forgive the technical imperfections.
