The December Ice storm created havoc, left thousands powerless (in many senses), cold and dark. Around here many trees and bushes were bowed over, but luckily few lost more than twigs. One tree, planted right at the edge of the local pond, didn’t break as such, but the weight pulled the tree roots out of the bank and it now lies horizontal. However, the storm did provide a visual spectacle, which alas was never quite captured in photographs. But that didn’t stop me trying.
