No, this is not the pics from the drunken swimming party. In fact, I categorically deny that there ever was such an event. Talking about the birds and the bees here. Wait, I’m getting deeper, aren’t I? Let’s start over…
I’m always amazed at how many nature photos are available right here in our back garden. This has been especially true since we hung a bird feeder. It’s a constant source of entertainment, and photographic opportunity. Anyway, here is a collection of photos of local fauna. All of these were taken in our garden, or really close by. The fox was three doors up the street, and the water-birds and turtle were in the local pond which is maybe a three minute walk away. Hope you enjoy looking at these as much as I did taking them!

Incredible! Quite the nature photographer. You should come and take pictures of the beautiful green parroquets we have flying around our parks in Haarlem and Amsterdam. No one really knows how there came to be so many, but the story goes that some escaped from cages, took up residence in the parks and procreated. Quite a sight to see in the middle of a Dutch winter! I was lying on the grass next to one of the canals here yesterday, admiring them flying around in a huge flock. When I used to take my cats to the park nearest to me, the parroquets would squawk at my cats when they would freeze, as if they were encouraging them to run with me from one clump of trees to the next. Once the cats did set off, the flock would follow squawking joyfully above. Think it freaked my cats out more than anything, although Chara loves nothing better than to make strange prehistoric noises as she eyes the seagulls and other birds from the safety of the window.
Probably some of the budgies that escaped from our aviary in Ashurst, flew over and mutated!
