Just after Christmas we had a heavy snowfall overnight which stuck to everything and looked great. For a very short time. I got out just after 8:15 am, dragging the dog who was complaining that she hadn’t finished her coffee and that we NEVER go for a winter walk this side of noon, and by the time we got back just after 9, there was obvious melting (the giant red ornament is hanging in our neighbour’s tree, and you can see the drips forming.) So we timed it just right, and only saw one other person (with a husky, no less – the Hummer equivalent of our smart car Portie) on the paths, so I was able to take photos of undisturbed snow.
And no, the fact that Santa David brought me a new camera body had no influence on my decision to get out in the winter wonderland. Well, not much.
