This week I found a blog post that pretty much encapsulates my feelings about Christmas. Christmas is not just the Christian view, it’s not just a pile of presents. It’s a celebration, but a celebration of so many ideas that it’s hard to untangle them all. Certainly, it’s a time of year when everyone should feel good. Anyway, I came across this post via a web developer who had encoded the diagram (I’m coming to that) in pure HTML and CSS which was a very elegant solution, mostly beyond my skills, and certainly beyond my skills to embed the thing in this WordPress site without major global changes. So if you’re interested, follow the links to both posts, or just take a look at the Venn diagram I copied, as an image, not as an elegant accessible piece of coding wonder.
Meanwhile, I’m going to feel less guilty about wishing people a “Merry Christmas”. There’s no need for non-Christian folk to get upset, what I’m wishing them is a Merry secular Christmas, with possibly a dash of Pagan.

And speaking of magical Christmas, if you were wondering where that fantastic video of me magically wrapping Christmas presents was, you’re in luck. Here’s a link:
