Anna has transitioned to working exclusively in the Floral department at our local Metro, where she is far happier than working on a cash register. For a while in Summer she would come home laden with flowers and practice making arrangements. To fill them out, she would collect flowers and any other interesting plant life from our garden and around our neighbourhood, and then have a great time making and re-making arrangements. She and I had several conversations regarding the relative merits of leaving a flower in the garden versus harvesting it! For Thanksgiving, Anna did all the table decorations.
I think Mary-Jo’s mother and Aunt would thoroughly approve of Anna’s career move, as they were both florists in Hamilton.
I thought it would be a good idea to use my “green-screen” backdrop for taking some of the photos, so I could replace the background with whatever I came up with. It turned out that this wasn’t a great idea, as half of the arrangement disappeared when I removed the background. Who knew floral arrangements would have green in them?
