After a four year hiatus – something about a pandemic, as I recall – the Powells hosted what would have been called “July Birthdays” on July 9th, but Gloria’s absence sort of put a damper on the birthday aspect. She had the misfortune to be on the same bus trip as another resident who later came down with Covid, so Gloria was isolated from Sunday to Tuesday and wasn’t allowed out on parole. Chloe and Jack were there to represent the BD crowd, but it was a real disappointment that Gloria wasn’t able to be present and preside over the celebrations.
However, we did get to meet new partners and great-great nieces and nephews. For those who are keeping track of the dance cards, Bruce and Elaine’s sons Jack and Max came with Julia and Kiera respectively. Pamela’s sons Mitch and Reece came with wife Brooke (daughter Maven) and partner Kayley (son Theo) respectively.
I think I’ve put names in the captions of all the photos, back to front, left to right in case the order isn’t clear.
The forecast rain and possible thunderstorm held off, and a good time was had by all.
Due to (as they say in the papers) an abundance of caution, I’m not posting pics of the infants, but there is an unlisted video on YouTube which has photos (of everyone) and a few video snippets. I don’t want to post the link here, but I can provide it to family. (As can Reece and Mitch.)
