While we were on vacation, we arranged to have most of our wooden flooring sanded and re-finished. Adam’s room and the upstairs hall were emptied into the spare bedroom, and the kitchen and family room furniture was stacked into the dining room, living room and my study. When we got back we had the empty rooms painted. The plan was to get the other downstairs rooms done immediately after, but both Mary Jo and I came down with a nasty virus and so we put off phase two. Unfortunately the floor people were busy, so it didn’t happen until the end of May.
Emptying the study involved dismantling two computers and a home theatre, and moving close to a thousand DVDs books and software boxes. Meanwhile the new couch (ordered to arrive after everything had settled down!) arrived and was shoehorned into the stuffed family room. One crystal chandelier was broken during phase one and fixed during phase two.
While we were in the mood, we finally (after 12 years) put a tile back splash in the kitchen! And, no it never looked this tidy ever again.
